Police records show 1,157 two-wheelers worth an estimated ₹5.23 crore were stolen in Bhopal from January through August 2026. Only 182, or about 16%, were recovered, leaving 975 untraced. Police identified 82 theft hotspots, while Govindpura recorded the most cases among station areas, with 100.

Ujjain divisional commissioner Asheesh Singh ordered a one-month salary deduction for municipal engineer Rahul Chauhan and a ₹5 lakh penalty on a contractor over alleged negligence and poor work on Bhagat Singh Marg. Lawyers protesting the alleged police assault of advocate Rakesh Rawal disrupted traffic around Bhopal’s district court on Wednesday. Barricades affected Jail Road and routes towards MP Nagar and Jahangirabad. Protesters demanded an FIR against the personnel involved. Police have also registered a case against Rawal following a traffic constable’s complaint.

Madhya Pradesh’s administrative reorganisation panel has invited public suggestions before considering changes to districts, divisions, tehsils and development blocks. At a meeting in Ujjain, chairman S. N. Mishra said proposals should reflect local needs and include supporting facts.
