A 26-year-old woman, Karishma Madhavani, died after allegedly receiving an electric shock from a CCTV camera pole while going for Ganpati darshan in Ulhasnagar on September 18. Police have registered a case against the CCTV maintenance contractor and are investigating possible electrical faults, safety lapses and maintenance issues.

Navi Mumbai residents can submit claims and objections on the draft electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision drive till September 30. NMMC said voters can use Form 6 for new registration, Form 7 for objections or deletions and Form 8 for corrections. Final electoral rolls will be published on November 4.

NRI Police arrested 52-year-old Neelam Sharma from Ghaziabad for allegedly cheating three businessmen of ₹1.45 crore by promising returns on mining and transport investments. Police said Sharma and her husband Harishankar Pandey allegedly collected money from the victims before going absconding. Sharma is in police custody until September 23, while Pandey remains untraced.

Maharashtra’s Transport Department plans to deploy 80-100 new ambulances at accident-prone locations to provide faster medical aid during the ‘golden hour’. Officials will prioritise black spots, highways and areas far from hospitals. The ambulances, proposed to be purchased using the Road Safety Fund, will provide first aid, stabilise victims and transport them to nearby trauma centres.
