Colaba Causeway, Kala Ghoda Residents Demand Inclusion In BMC's Pedestrian First Policy Over Hawker Encroachments

Colaba BJP corporator Makarand Narwekar has urged BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide to include Colaba Causeway and MG Road in Kala Ghoda under the ‘Pedestrian First’ policy. Residents and activists said hawker encroachments have reduced walking space despite court directions on unauthorised hawkers. BMC launched the pedestrian initiative in June 2026.
