Traders in Indore observed ‘No UPI Day’ on Wednesday, covering payment QR codes and asking customers for cash to protest a proposed 0.4% merchant charge on certain UPI transactions above ₹2,000. Organisers claimed nearly 125 business associations participated in the city and warned of stronger demonstrations if the charge proceeds.
